Wetlands

The value of wetlands has been appreciating since Section 404 of The Clean Water Act required that a permit was needed for dredging or filling in wetlands. The value has been further enhanced as science continues to prove that a "passive" system such as a wetland can help filter and purify water. Even agricultural uses such as filter strips from livestock waste facilities have enhanced the value of wetlands.

Several Government agencies are associated with the Permitting, Identification, Mitigation and Management of wetland areas. EPI's knowledgeable staff of professionals is experienced in working with these agencies in order to make the process as easy as possible.

EPI's staff has the ability to locate, identify, delineate, mitigate and maintain wetland areas. EPI staff is also able to aid in finding private, state or federal assistance in order to offset the costs associated with establishing and maintaining wetlands.

EPI's staff can provide the following services for our wetland clients:

  • Wetland Determinations
  • Wetland Delineation
  • USACE Sec. 404 Permitting
  • Wetland Design
  • Mitigation Design and Construction Oversight
  • Establishing BMPs (Best Management Practices) Associated with Wetland Wildlife, Ecosystems, etc.
