Solid Waste Management

The area of solid waste management rapidly emerged as one of the major environmental issues of the 1990's and is predicted to remain a major issue in the next millennium. EPI specializes in the design, construction and monitoring of various solid and hazardous waste management facilities.

These services include landfill planning and design, groundwater and surface water management, facility closures, waste minimization and leachate collection and treatment. EPI personnel have observed and inspected the installation of over 8 million square feet of synthetic liner materials utilized in the construction of impervious liner and cover systems. Also, EPI professionals have been involved with the design and monitoring of numerous ground water monitoring systems. These systems are designed to assess the impact of a facility’s operation on the ground water environment.

EPI provides the following services to our Solid Waste clients:

  • Liner and Cover System Design
  • Leachate Management
  • Ground Water Monitoring
  • Ground Water Data Statistical Analysis
  • Construction Quality Assurance Inspections
  • Permitting Documents/Closure Plans
