The
health and safety of EPI’s employees, clients and the
community are of prime importance to EPI.
EPI employees
are acutely aware of health and safety requirements. EPI project
managers are trained in safety awareness and are supplemented
with specially trained professionals. Each EPI project has
an assigned health and safety officer responsible for developing
and implementing a health and safety plan for that project.
EPI employees involved in hazardous site activities have completed
the 40-hour OSHA 29 CFR1910.120 training course. EPI maintains
a strict medical surveillance program that covers EPI employees
who work in hazardous site conditions.
The primary function of the EPI Health and Safety Program
is to:
- Promote Health and Safety
Awareness Throughout the Company,
- Audit OSHA and EPA Regulatory
Compliance
- Prepare Health and Safety
Plans
- Provide Safety Training and
Maintain Records
- Administer a Medical Surveillance
Program.
The program was developed
to protect the health of field personnel from potential
chemical exposure and follows guidelines or regulations
developed by the National Institute of Occupational Safety
and Health (NIOSH) and OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.
